I work for a residential cleaning company who promised me at LEAST 20 hours per week, so I took the job. However, it's 2 months later and I only receive 3.5 hours every other week!! I just got a job offer that I have accepted. Here's what I wrote: Amy Xxxxxxx Wxxxxx Bxxxxxxxx Dr Gxxxxxxxx, WI 5xxxx (9xx)8xx-xxxx 11/6/2008 Valley VNA Dear Colleen: This letter serves as my two week notice. My last day would be two weeks from today, Thursday, November 20th, 2008. I will be able to clean for the Stahl account on November 12th. However, I am not interested in receiving any additional assignments as I am beginning to train at my other job. Also, I am not able to take the apartment assignment in Oshkosh. I received the new job offer after I had spoken to you about the assignment, so I apologize for any inconvenience. The reason for my resignation is that I am just not receiving enough hours. I came into this job with the understanding that I would be receiving at least 20 hours per week, as discussed at my interview and at orientation. I am a college student with no financial aid and car payments as well as insurance to pay for. I have enjoyed my experience with the VNA, and I felt it has helped me gain responsibility as an individual. I will drop off my key after I am finished at the Stahl residence on the 12th.
